WHY I AM RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT, BY PROF OSINBAJO

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE  My experiences, insights, opportunities must be used for Nigeria and Nigerians, VP adds In the past seven years, I have served as Vice President under a true Nigerian patriot, a servant of the nation in war and peace, and a man of integrity, President Muhammadu Buhari.  We have, together, worked through some of the most difficult times in the history of our Nation, but we have remained focused on securing the country, providing infrastructure and growing our economy.  As stipulated by the Nigerian Constitution, our tenure will end next year. In this period of seven years, I have served the government in several capacities, and have, at the direction of Mr. President, represented our country in sensitive high level international engagements. I have been to practically all local governments in Nigeria. I have been in markets, factories, schools, and farms. I have been in agricultural, mining and oil producing communities; in the Delta, in Keb...

NATO IS AVOIDING WAR WITH RUSSIA FOR OUR SAKE

NATO's decision to not close the sky over Ukraine is correct. A shooting war between Russia and NATO should be avoided as much as possible and the way the US has been evading that confrontation is simply the right thing to do.If you think it is cowardice, it is because you don't know and this post will brief you. Let me set it out in a very brief way.  There are three types of wars: 1. Conventional war - which is fought according to the rules of war: Don't kill civilians and children, don't hit civilian infrastructure, don't shoot surrendering enemy soldiers and PoWs, etc. 2. Total war - which Russia seems to be fighting in Ukraine right now and which it fought against Chechnya in Grozny. In a total war, you just kill everybody you see and destroy everything on your way. 3. Nuclear war. On a normal day, Russia will fall quickly of NATO engages it in a conventional or a total war and Putin has admitted that much in a speech recently. There is no contest in that. NAT...

Saint Seraphim of Sarov

Drink water from the spring where horses drink. The horse will never drink bad water. Lay your bed where the cat sleeps. Eat the fruit that has been touche by a worm. Boldly pick the mushroom on which the insects sit. Plant the tree where the mole digs. Build your house where the snake sits to warm itself. Dig your fountain where the birds hide from heat. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time with the birds – you will reap all of the days golden grains. Eat more green – you will have strong legs and a resistant heart, like the beings of the forest. Swim often and you will feel on earth like the fish in the water. Look at the sky as often as possible and your thoughts will become light and clear. Be quiet a lot, speak little – and silence will come in your heart, and your spirit will be calm and fill of peace.

Mr. Gulzarilal Nanda

A 94-year-old man was thrown out of a rented house by the landlord for not paying the rent. The old man had hardly any belongings except an old bed, some aluminum utensils, a plastic bucket and a mug etc. The old man requested the owner to give him some time to pay the rent. The neighbors also took pity on the old man, and they convinced the landlord to give him some time to pay the rent. The landlord reluctantly gave him some time to pay the rent. The old man took his belongings inside. A journalist passing by stopped and saw the whole scene. He thought it would be useful to publish the matter in his newspaper. He even thought up a headline, "Cruel landlord kicks old man out of rented house for money." Then he took some pictures of the old tenant and also took some pictures of the rented house. The journalist went and told his press owner about the incident. The owner of the press looked at the pictures and was shocked. He asked the journalist, did he know the old man? The...
