O CHRIST, YOU ALONE REDEEMED ME By: Oluwajimi Thorpe

O Christ, you are so precious to me.  You alone among celestial beings came to redeem me. You alone among other celestial beings choose to die for me. You alone humbled yourself to be born in a manger for my sake. I betrayed you the day I welcomed you into Jerusalem, O Christ you knew that I was going to crucify you, and you celebrated your crucification with me. You alone wore a crown of thorns that I kept on your head.  You alone died for me and I being the crucifier. You alone died for me on the cross.   O Christ, and your last words were, "It is finished." You alone, on the third day rose again for my redemption. YOU ALONE, YOU ALONE, YOU ALONE  REDEEMED ME. Happy Easter, i pray the joy of celebration will never seize in our life as we celebrate the death and Resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ.  ©OJ Thorpe blog

WILL THERE STILL BE A REASON FOR YOU TO STAY By: Ajayi Daniel

When all becomes weak When I start to fade Will there be a reason For you to stay Remember beauty is vain Remember teeth don't stay Will there be a reason For you to stay When I become frail And words largely fail Will there be a reason For you to stay And when memories fail And I my self's stranger Will you love me And still want to stay When I can't tell My right from left Will there be a reason For you to stay You know I love you But I've lost how to care Will you still love me Oh my dear When beauty fades And I've lost myself Oh my dear Make sure you stay. ©OJ Thorpe blog

Poem by: Damilola Omolaja

As the footsteps quicken, As my heart's race heightens, As my little fists swing in misdirection, As the wind tries to hurl me on its mission, I hear my mates scrambling as am I I see my mates scurrying as am I And the "catcher" chants merrily But fiercely "Boju Boju o" and we hid hastily. The chase was on But it was not the intelligent that won, Neither the strong nor the fast, But the one bestowed with all gifts. So "boju boju o" let all be warned For the "catcher" is on the hunt and is armed. ©DamlolaOmolaja

WRONG PHILOSOPHIES...!!

1. *"WHATEVER WILL BE, WILL BE"* ```Whatever will be will not be; you have to make it be. You have a part to play in what will be in your life, so don't leave it to chance.``` 2. *"HALF BREAD IS BETTER THAN NONE!"* ```Why settle for half bread when you can get a full bread or even own a bakery. This is a limiting belief that positions you to settle for less and it is a mediocre to philosophy.``` 3. *"A FOOL AT FORTY IS A FOOL FOREVER"* ```A fool at any age can be a fool forever if he refuses to let go of his foolishness. It is never too late to become wise because the day you wake up and wise up is the day you CHANGE!``` 4 . *"ALL FINGERS ARE NOT EQUAL"* ```Yes! Physical fingers in your hands are not equal but that does not make any of them valueless. Lose one and you realize that they are all valuable. You are not even a finger, so why look down on yourself.``` 5. *"LIFE BEGINS AT FORTY"* ```...

*School life* By: Olafimihan

Ding!Ding!Ding! Rang the alarm I jumped from my bed Oh!it a new dawn. Resuming the day's activity I had my most dreadful journey Walking down to class Gosh! The lecturer is in class I quietly entered the class. I think I know What it feels like to slip into coma I am in class taking lectures Oh! I am so tired I cannot stare at the lecturer He is so talkative as he has a PhD in education. I cannot even take note I can't wait to see him walk through the door. She tapped me and whispered Jerk! You are dozing I said, the lecturer is rambling We both laughed But my sense are going Slowly I slipped into darkness. He left the class I heaved a sigh of relief HOC stands up saying The next lecturer cannot be with us today Everyone is happy. Jide throw spit wads and henry eats his pen cover Bola poke Simi And all of us talked and roared with laughter. I smiled with pleasure As the thought of making jest of Dr.Funbi filled my head Until I found...

who betrayed who

A couple decides to commit suicide after going through a really hard tough time in life. So they both decided to jump off a 20  storey building to death. When they got to the topmost  floor, they both agreed to count 1-3 and jump. On the 3rd count, the woman jumped but the man stayed. As the man watched the woman fall, he saw the woman pulling out a parachute to land safely.  Question - who betrayed who?  The man or the woman?  Justify ur answer. Hmmmm!!    ©OJ Thorpe blog

*"OUR FUTURE OUR DESTINY"* By: Olafimihan

We have been marginalized and intimidated by leaders who perpetuate injustice, our future and destinies have been messed up with. Where are the comrades who worked for justice and development, let pick up the baton and ride in the same platform of honor. We are taking our destiny back with fire and all forces, the gong of war has started,it is time to shape our destiny the way it suppose to be.       It time to fix our problem,we are tired of chewing the insensitivity of the government and swallowing ignorance and stupidity, we are tired of the quagmire that rock our environment. Do u think we just have to keep looking? We are taking the risk, we shall all move around with our fellow comrades to dispose all traitors and stupid leaders, we are not joking, the gong and song of war have started,we are ready to overthrown bad political precedence.         Dele Momodu said and I quote "Many of our youth are worl...
