"When Its Your Turn Do It Right". By: EllaReina

To the youth of our generation;what do we call this infantile display of IQ of our so called leaders...They have said so many things to us in the name of change yet we took it hook, line and sinker because we believed we voted them in and so in this case every of our answers has to be yes to them.

Everyday is a new distraction (if it was relevant I won't even be pained)One time it was display of different letters (maybe they were doing a sort of grammatic competition i don't know because I'm yet to see the relevance of these letters). Later came news about huge amounts of money being kept in abandoned properties.

As if that wasn't enough those hopeless creatures fabricated stories about animals taking up human properties( please o when did money became food for snake for it to have swallowed 36million naira, abi monkey does not recognise banana anymore that it mistook money for it?). In addition to that...rat pursued Mr President out his office can you imagine?! With all these then i begin to wonder if  all these happened in reality or just an imagination  (probably from reading too many books such as animal farm). In addition to all this, our dearly beloved Mr President goes on an assignment supposingly to benefit the country but instead went speaking ill of the youth. Well truth be told we Nigerian youths are lazy! If we aren't why would we allow the drop dead oldies with old wisdoms rule over us while the able bodies are behind the scene.

Everyone now nurture this crazy idea of when I get to power "i want to get my share of the national cake" by looting the nation's treasure while the poor citizens suffers. Let's think about this,as a youth when we get the power to change this country...our people's welfare should be our priority not some sort of distraction and not let the oldies lead us astray. We have had enough of their display. Would love to continue but an adage says a word is enough for the wise. Thank you.

Painful letters By: Marvee

Every time I feel this way This terrifying kind of pain These twitchy palms and muffled sobs These weakened sights and mindless slob I would think of something To put me at ease, anything At times, to leave my world And be someone else, not a dud Often times I would write on plain sheet Write till my limbs felt weak Write till the page is covered in ink Write till the painful times shift.                                              ©-Marvee

The So Called Queen By:Salawu Olubunmi

_The so called queen of the zanger A woman of misery and deceptive appearance Wags tongue in a swordlike How angelic she be when seeking the honey frm it's comb With her romantic but deceitful display The first sight of her left me in dismay First encounter with her was heartrending Such a sweet poison A devil in disguise wit an angelic face The so called queen can neither be embraced nor avoided.

THE GCE GIRL By: OLUSEGUN AKINSANYA

Every year we welcome into our community several teenagers between 13 and 17 from far and near. They are both male and female. They have the same mission. They have come to write General Certificate Examination (G.C.E). Most of them are penultimate students in secondary schools. These little fellows have been fixed at centres nearby to write their exams and the people that brought them have accommodation as part of the payment agreement. Some of these children are leaving home for the first time. Some of them look like mom's pets. Immediately they hit the town, you see a lot of ambiance and noise, something like a carnival. They make noise in the morning while looking for water for domestic use and in the evening when they are back from their different centres. It's always a new experience for most of them, and they seem to enjoy it: yea, they seem to enjoy being away from home for a whole month, a kind of escape from the eagle eyes of their parents; they seem to enjoy a t...
