RESHAPING NIGERIA; WHAT CAN WE THE YOUTH DO?

Considering the state of the nation from a non sentimental perspective, it is crystal clear that the already deformed entity needs be sanitised.

However, the cleansing process requires the engagement of ordained, certified individuals or group of persons.  This arouses or brings about the question;
“who” , who are those that can, will, and must RESHAPE THIS GREAT NATION?

A cloud of steam had risen from the earth and it is hanging in the air amidst the cloud of uncertainty, owing to the glare of the sun on earth wet by a recent torrential rain. The sun had emerged in all its scorching eminence even before the rain had stopped.

The rain is falling and yet, the sun remains undaunted in services. In a more easy form, the rain points its long slim finger at the old cargos (old politicians/leaders) that had given the nation a bad and deformed shape which makes it needs reformation, remoulding and reshaping.

The sun which stands for the Nigerian youth depicts that as youths, we have been ordained to dry up the traces of their rain even while they are still in existence. If we want a crop for a year, we grow millet; if we want a crop for ten years, we grow a tree; and if we want a crop for a hundred years, we grow men (capable men). This adage implies that there is an advanced knowledge which is buried in the heart of education, and this is the key factor in reshaping the nation.

Embedded in education is the answer to the riddles that surrounds the deformed state of our NATION. The common saying “education is the best legacy”, serves as a pointer as well as key guard encouraging and urging us to look and see beyond our limitations. It is noteworthy to state that a nation does not need to be reshaped if her structure is gloriously amazing. However, in the presence of a fault the service of an expert is required. In order words, only a shaped youth is deemed fit to reshape the nation.

Narayauh Kurup, former acting chief justice of the Madras’ high court in one of his enlightenment campaigns made mention of the spirit of sacrifice and selfless service among youths who he posits as today’s inspiration and the promise of the future.

As youths, we are key determinants in that our desires, decisions, physical mentality, abilities and moral qualities goes a long way determining the pattern of the nation’s destiny. At such, we must develop ourselves, imbibing the spirit of tolerance, team work and universal love.

Our lives must be based on principled ethical values. Not sidelining discipline; unity must be emphasised alongside the uplift of our traditions living in the reality of an auspicious great tomorrow.

Greatness for us is innate and as true hybrids we must protrude that which is in us, show casing to the world that we have in us the ability to reshape our father’s land and that we are not in any way limited signalling that we are able, well-able to change the world.

Nonetheless, decision without determination will not or yield less results. At such, we are not to deviate from our positive professions, decisions’ as well not relenting as regards determination, for it is in relenting that we become subjected to external subjugation and internal chaos which is dangerous as it could lead to drastic degeneration and deformation.

Commitment cannot be overemphasised. In reshaping, we must be committed; not allowing ourselves to be dissuaded and categorized among the hopeless, we must remain focused, positive minded and work towards achieving results.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step and until that step is taken the journey remain uncommenced. It’s noteworthy to reiterate the popular saying that a “united few will achieve more than a divided majority”.

AS A YOUTH THE RESHAPING BEGINS WITH YOU….

DREAMS OF A perfect FAMILY VANDALISED BY A FAKE IFA PRIEST

Who is man to God? Who is God to man How much distance do our prayers cover by land? In relation to our circumstances and time What does man think of what he sees? And what does God see of what man thinks Emmanuel; God with us But Immanuel on Alakija Street is having spiritual blurred visions On a trip to the priest to inquire of what the future holds, Inheriting gold and paying exceedingly half its worth to verify if it’s gold The tales of Alamu the one with the gift of palmistry Brothers killed brothers, Because the other has been identified to be, The one who will inherit the gift of the fathers, Which of my kids shall be successful? Answers of which the priest shall deliver A gift of wine, a gift of hen, The fake priest gets fatter, Worshipers of the deity that sip champagne and eat gizzards Whilst living off the believers hazard Your mother is a witch Your sister is the glitch Until your siblings die your lineage shall not succeed, These priests we...

MAY YOUR ROAD BE ROUGH By Tai Solarin, Jan. 1, 1964

I am not cursing you; I am wishing you what I wish myself every year. I therefore repeat, may you have a hard time this year, may there be plenty of troubles for you this year! If you are not so sure what you should say back, why not just say, ‘Same to you’? I ask for no more. Our successes are conditioned by the amount of risk we are ready to take. Earlier on today I visited a local farmer about three miles from where I live. He could not have been more than fifty-five, but he said he was already too old to farm vigorously. He still suffered, he said, from the physical energy he displayed as a farmer in his younger days. Around his hut were two pepper bushes. There were kokoyams growing round him. There were snail shells which had given him meat. There must have been more around the banana trees I saw. He hardly ever went to town to buy things. He was self-sufficient.  The car or the bus, the television or the telephone, the newspaper, Vietnam or Red China were nothing to ...

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, indigo: Who is dancing with these rainbow colours in the sky? Air after rain, slanting sun: mountains and passes turning blue in each changing moment. Fierce battles that year: bullet holes in village walls. These mountains so decorated, look even more beautiful today. Artwork via: Forbes
