"DEFINE YOURSELF" By: Oj-Thorpe

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, a wise man once said; Stop living within the confines of how others define You! You weren't created to live their life, You were created to live Yours - so live it! Be unapologetically You! This year publication is titled: "DEFINE YOURSELF" You were never created to live bellow your potential base on the influence of external forces (people). You were never created to live your life base on what people say (they will say, that why you will always be ahead). You were created to "DEFINE YOURSELF" because (if you know, you know). You were created to create & coordinate your LIFE. "LIVE AND LET LIVE" #HAPPYPROSPEROUSYEAR ©OJTHORPE

STAGNATION OF THE NIGERIAN STATE: (A FAILURE OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH) BY; SHOTUNDE OLADIMEJI

The Nigerian state has been bedevilled by some negative phenomena which has had an effect on its progress as a nation. This has come in the form of corruption, absence of patriotism, general restiveness, unstable economy and above all; negligence on the part of the youths. All these are inimical to the growth and development of a nation. They  would be extensively discussed, in a lucid manner, as we move on in this write-up. Stagnation is a process or level of inactivity; when one is neither moving nor progressing, for a long period of time. Using the Nigerian state as an example, it is easy to conclude that the country lacks the necessary drive to be in tandem with the advanced countries of the world. Failure is defined by the Oxford Advanced Learners' Dictionary as the inability to meet up with an intended goal or objective. Relating this to the Nigerian youths, the questions are: Have we been able to proffer solutions to the country's economic problems? Have we been abl...

TELL THEM

Go back to them And tell this to them; Tell them of the veiled beast, That follows their expressions- suit, Tell them of the swallowed sword, That has swallows moulded around it, Piercing us on our faces, As they stand at their phase. Tell them of the lump buried in our eyebrow; Reason why we stopped looking up to them, And tell them! Tell them that what they say create not a way for us. Tell them their speeches does not make us. Tell them their confessions does not move us; And tell them their disappointment does not hurt us. David O. ÀKÀNÓ {KING JUSTICE}

BABY MAMA

It's really quite a great challenge to be alone, caring for a love child. Having a love child or being a baby mama as it's popularly called these days is a nasty experience. It looks cool at the beginning, especially when one is associated with a rich or popular guy. But, when the chips are down, the mama will have to face the wall every night, not knowing whether she is married or not. While I look at the challenges of single mothers, I think the most depressing thing is the marital status confusion. Sometimes, she would say she is married, for social convenience and sometimes she would say she isn't, when she wants to be real or true to herself. She would not even be sure whether she still loves the man or not. She might even wonder if the man could visit her bed any time he wishes. If another guy is lurking around, she also has to battle the mixed thought of the legality or the morality of any sexual experience whether with the father of her child or with a new guy...

Maina isn't the first person that was fired for corruption that Buhari has brought back to Government

Maina isn't the first person that was fired for corruption that Buhari has brought back to government. Here is the progressive list... 1. AbdulRahman Danbazzau was fired as chief of army staff for corrupt practices in purchasing of arms and has been appointed minister of interior by buhari. 2. Mohammed Barkindo was removed as NNPC MD by the late yaradua for stealing huge kickbacks from oil and been appointed as Nigeria's Secretary General to opec by Buhari. 3. Acp Zakari Bui, a man accused and dismissed for aiding boko haram kingpin kabiru Sokoto to escape from detention was reinstated and promoted by buhari. 4. Abdul Rasheed Maina, a man that ran away since 2014 and has been declared wanted by efcc for embezzlement of N2bn pension funds have been reinstated as deputy director ministry of interior. 5. Ahmed Gambo Saleh, Registrar of the Supreme Court, He stole N2.2bn belonging to the Supreme court and was caught red handed and fired, today Ahmed Gambo Saleh has no...

#LegalTipsWithOlukayode #FundingForPublicCompanies

Dear Client, Public companies have the huge advantage of being able to raise funds from a variety of options. In fact, many law firms and business entities have practice groups that are solely dedicated to helping them raise funds. These options include loans, bonds, shares, stock and debenture, collective investment schemes. All these options are highly complicated systems that require a lot of expertise. In fact, the law will forbid that these transactions be carried out without the input of professionals such as lawyers, financial reporters, investment advisers, issuing houses as well as stockbrokers. This is because public companies have a large membership base whose interests must be adequately protected. A worrisome trend however is for directors of public companies in trying to either cut cost or to play smart employ professionals without much expertise in project finance, and these "professionals" also fail to seek help on complex issues. This has to stop! Do...

…and Osagyefo is Headless!

I am the traveller on this historic time and land, bubbling with enthusiasm of meeting one of the great Pan-Africanists —a vision that was probably buried before it was birth— hoping to draw fresh inspiration in human vanity, for I would not be P.B. Shelley to despair our rulers’ collective futility, as they assume transcendental essence in search of vain glory, taking titles as the Saviour of our races and tribes… And, over there, on that same similar stretch of empty land, stands a headless vast Nkrumah, cast in bronze to endure, but he has lost many things, for he could not bear the attack of the invading hopeless and empty vandals, who chopped off a portion of his leg by irrational force, and hacked off one of the Saviour, Osagyefo’s hands… And on the pedestal where the severed head is mounted, appear these words: “The bronze head of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s original Statue which stood in front of the old parliament house, Accra, vandalized during the Februar...

BEING USED PRECEDES BEING USEFUL

To be anything worthwhile in life, a person must be prepared to be used and sometimes overused by people he has submitted himself to before he could be a very useful material himself. Whether in politics, religion, business or sports; nothing is as sure in getting out the best out of a person than working under a person who had peaked in that chosen endeavour. Sometimes those peak achievers have raised the bar of human achievements to abnormally high pedestal that meeting up with their minimum expectations may be so exasperating. The need to be drilled by these hard Metals on one's way to becoming a master is the only tested way to glory. But it's a difficult task to undertake. Before you can create your own world, you need to have lived long in another's world. Their world may be a world of daily  troubles, challenges and trauma. Mentorship, or a more thorough and conservative form, discipleship, involves moulding you into a shape that wasn't your original fo...

CAREFREE

Young, carefree, innocent You sing, laugh and dance Taking in all Gods' glory At every single chance. Grown up You ignore the wonders that you cherished as a child Gone is the carefree, honesty and mild. You walk around with blinders on, Into the race of money and greed. Not caring who gets hurt Just to fulfill your selfish needs. Stepping over the line of morals to have wealth and material things Ignoring all Gods gifts Like the first rain in Spring Keep that little child inside! Hold her close to your heart, We're only here for a brief time Then with this world, we must part For a moment each day It's OK to get silly to laugh and dance. Take in all Gods glory At every single chance. *©ANALYTICAL ANALIZER✍*

#LegalTipsWithOlukayode #FundingForYourBusinessII

Dear Client, Before taking that decision to raise money from external sources for your enterprise, you should ask yourself the following questions and provide satisfactory answers: 1. Is this money really necessary? 2. What is the expected yield of such external finance? 3. What's the proposed return period? 4. What is the interest rate before and after the legal due date 5. What rights are exclusively stated in your agreement For a small enterprise, the proprietor must be very careful to ensure that only needed funds are sourced externally. This is because it is becoming a trend that entrepreneurs feature in personal needs into their business needs and borrow such money which because such amount cannot reasonably be gotten back, they have lost their businesses. Also, the questions raised above must be properly answered and the agreement thoroughly scrutinized  by your solicitor. You must know that you have a right to vary cumbersome conditions. Do not stiffle your bu...

*Lost in love* By *E. D. Oghre*

Cause you see; I lost the war, I surrender the battle, There was no need to fight, Cause your beauty was the ultimate KO. i don't know what cause it, Maybe an angel planned it, maybe it was faith, But when i saw you i was lost, Lost in love. ©E. #LegalTipsWithOlukayode #FundingForYourBusinessI

Dear Client, Happy New week. I know you have set your mind to making more profit this week and this will require you to increase your productivity. This may require some funds, which may then become a bother as to raise such. There are different ways by which you can raise funds for your enterprise, private or public company. I will take us through the processes this week. Let's start from an enterprise  (simple Business Name): It could either be easy or tough to raise funds here. It is easy because the amount you may be trying to raise may be little compared to what a private or public company may be looking to raise. But it is more difficult because of your financial base which may not encourage too much debt.  Your options may include: 1. Family 2. Co-operative or thrift society 3. Microfinance banks 4. Other willing institutions These institutions will put in some conditions, you must be careful that they aren't those that will ruin your business! Dear ent...

I don't want to believe that Joe Igbokwe would say such a thing

I don't want to believe that Joe Igbokwe would say such a thing as "the youth should wait until they are old enough to hold political office " Is Joe Igbokwe the APC spokesman indirectly telling us that the likes of Obasanjo, Gowon,  Ojukwu,  Enahoro,  Buhari,  Babangida, Awolowo, Okpara, Tafawa  and co who were leaders of this country as youth below 45 years old were not capable? Is he saying that France, Canada Australia and co have elected incapable youth to lead these countries. I wonder what kind of leader at almost 80 years would say that people in their  40s cannot govern a state or nation. For 50 years these present leadership did not consider it wise to train the successors that will take over from them, instead they come out to condemn and discourage self-empowered youths. So to a man like Igbokwe,  Nigeria would not move forward.  When you say a man in his 40s cannot govern,  you must mean he should wait till he is 70 bef...

UNDUE INFLUENCE OF PLEASURE OVER BUSINESS

The first lesson in business education that every greenhorn trying to dip his feet into the risky lagoon of business will learn is *business is business.* You don't need to go to a business school or have an MBA to learn it. This knowledge is on the street. Every hustler, every kiosk owner, every cab driver, and about anyone who exchanges goods or services for cash knows that immediately a person allows pleasure or sentiment to creep into his business, he is finished. Serious businessmen are ruthless, first of all with their own self, then with anyone that tries to disrupt the flow of their business. With all sincerity, everyone is in one business or the other. A preacher is in the business of winning souls, an actor, in the business of entertainment, a teacher in the business of knowledge dispensation. Therefore, living by the principle of business is business, is the foremost knowledge that should be taught in seminaries, teachers training colleges, medical schools, and the...

#LegalTipsWithOlukayode #BusinessNameII

Dear Client, Now that you know what Business Name Registration is, you must also know that it is not all Business Names that require registration. Thus, what determines whether you require registration at all is the  name you have decided to adopt for your business. The following names DO  NOT require registration: 1. Name and Surname of the Proprietor  (e.g. Olukayode Olugbemi Enterprise)  2. Name and Surname of Partners in a partnership  (e.g. Olukayode Olugbemi and Taiwo Hassan ) 3. Initials and Surname of Partners in a partnership  (e.g. O.Olugbemi and T.Hassan) 4. Initial and Surname of the Proprietor (O.Olugbemi Enterprise). Please note that any other use of name apart from the real names of the owner (s) would require registration. This is because the main intent of business name registration is to identify the name and face behind a business. If you have decided to register a business name,  please consult your legal practitione...

The Paradox of “Tell Osun State University to Brace Up!!!” campaign

#NotoCriminalsinUniosun    #3080 I will start by quoting from the word of God in the Bible to foreground the seriousness of the paradox that I want to talk about in relation to my say #NotoCriminalsinUniosun campaign: Mr 3:21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself [KJV]. Mar 3:21 When Jesus' family heard what he was doing, they thought he was crazy and went to get him under control [CEV]. Mar 3:21  When his family heard about it, they set out to take charge of him, because people were saying, "He's gone mad!" [GNB]. Some of you may not know that certain psychologists and, perhaps spiritual experts, watching the ‘trend’ of my releases in the last few days on “Tell Osun State University to Brace Up!!!” are out with the diagnosis and prognosis as to my current psychological state of mind! And, if I could make a guess on their conclusions, it will well be captured in what is said ab...

Love sucks By: E. D. Oghre

(Please note The following is not exactly poetry  Just the ravings of a mad man (lol Just joking)  Not suitable for readers under the spell of love  Readers discretion is advised) They say it is better to have loved and lost,  than not to have loved at all. Let me tell you something, That's a load of crap. Come on guys tell me, Who came up with that crazy idea? What was he high on? Who said that? Tell me let me go and dance on his grave, Tell me let me go and desecrate his grave, The way love desecrated my heart. Does he actually know how much love hurts? Does he? He must never have felt the pain of losing a loved one, The crushing sadness of them not being there again! The pain of knowing that they are gone forever!! Hey hey idiot, (pardon my language) What were you thinking when you said that? The pain never leave you. You keep drowning in the memories, Just like an anchor, Pulling you to the bottom of the sea, The memories are sh...

What Can I do to Love By: Oj.Thorpe

Hello, it another weekend. I guess you had a great week. This week's piece is titled; ‘’What Can I do to Love’’ Is love really a beautiful thing? Does true love exist? How can I learn to love? This where the questions she asked during the conversation. At first, I was mute. I couldn’t say a word, but just gave a calm smile and listened to her side of the conversation. It goes thus; I find it hard to fall in love. In fact, I don’t know how it feels. I have dated more than fifteen guys, but wasn’t in love with any of them. I dated them because of the fun of dating and having a companion to just while away time with and you trust what your friends would say if you were the only one single among them.  After being in a relationship for two months, I tend to lose interest in the whole thing called love. It becomes boring and this would lead to issues arising during the early stages of dating as I thought it was normal or was just my age then. Presently, I would be 30yea...

Tell Osun State University to Brace Up!!! [Part 5]

#NotoCriminalsinUniosun    #3080 On the roles of Femi Makinde and the Punch Well, I have been expecting Femi Makinde to rush to press with all the materials I have sent to him in recent times, but, I am afraid, something strange seems to have happened to him and the Punch. You would also recall that I wrote an open letter to him and the Punch thanking them for the good job they did in exposing OJONIYI Olabode Wale who they claimed was harassing Ikwue Ejiro Mercy to give her marks for sex in Osun State University. Of course, they also gave a video evidence to support their claims. Femi and the Punch are known for good morality and truth… It is only that since I wrote the open letter to Femi and the Punch to complete the work they have started by asking them to publish the title of the courses I taught Ejiro, the marks I gave her in CA, the continuous assessment and the marks I gave her in the final exams, Femi and the Punch seem to have developed a problem...

Oĺòŕí Dèdòyíń By: Balogun Fatimah

Tall like a Lemonade tree, Her oval face caught my fancy. Her beam? It can make a furnace cold. Ońítèmí Dèdóyíń. Her colourful eyes, Like the feathers of a Peacock. Stared deep into my soul. Piercing my heart like a dagger. Her steps gives the ground, A fresh sound. Making footprints, Like a fairy Princess. Her calm nature? Is a sightly castle. Sitting gorgeously, Beside the beauteous ocean. A pest she can be, Whom you can't fumigate. But a jolly good fellow she is, Whom you would always admire. Her tiny hips, Adorned by Crystal illèkè Gave her bum, A new rhythm. The tree in Alààfíń's palace, Bowed to the fragrance, Of her scent. A stylish Olòŕí, She is perceived as. May Almighty God, Make my Queen, Live a long, And fulfilled life. *Ońìtèmí: My own* *Íllèkè: Waist bead* © *Balogun Fatimah Oluwatosin*

OUR STAND ON BIAFRA AND OTHER REGIONAL AGITATION

I treat Nigeria holistically. There is no region that is more important than the other however there are some neglect and injustice going on in most parts of the country including the South East that needs to be addressed in Nigeria. I will run an all inclusive government in Nigeria that would rebuild Nigeria with fresh ideas and give every Nigerian a sense of belonging. Biafra is a reaction to decades of bad governance and neglect in Nigeria by past and present government. If we have a government that cares for every sector and region without bias, there would be no agitation in Biafra or any region. This is why we are proposing a SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONSTITUTIONAL ASSEMBLY that will sit on a round table and rewrite the constitution. The members would be elected from their local consistency not appointed by government like was done by past governments. The assembly would have sovereign powers to decide the political and economic  restructure best suited for Nigeria. It ...

FILL HER HEART WITH HOPE By: ISA TOAFEEK

___Here is another beautiful poem written by a law student of Obafemi Awolowo University.. This mark his first writing after series of practising___ Edited by *ANALIZER* ____Read through the feelings of a woman poetically expressing her feelings _____ She got up this morning, sun shining through the blind. She took a look in the mirror, and something crossed her mind. You weren't there to see her wake, she didn't see your smile, for when she does, she feels like her days are all worthwhile. She went into work today, kids running through the halls. She looked at plans for tomorrow and is sad when nobody calls. She got in her car to go home today. On the radio she heard a song; it reminded her of you and how hurtful it is you're gone. She went out with a friend tonight, smiled and wore a brave face, for all she really wants in life is to have you in this place. She gets a daunting feeling, one that won't disappear. What's the poi...

#LegalTipsWithOlukayode

Dear Client, Do you have the right registration? It's quite easy to wake up and start a business, of course with the aim to make profit. You may not have considered being registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). However, this registration is quite important and not just being registered,  being registered under the right category. It is not an uncommon thing to intend to do business with several institutions or government and you consult "someone" to help you get registered. You are then given a Certificate of registration of business name and you then start making your bids. You consider your business registered! Yes your business is registered, but your business has the wrong registration for the intended market you intend to reach! This week, I want you to stop losing those contracts, so I will take us through the many forms of business registration and the benefits+limitations on each, the incentives and the proper market for each type of regist...

Sometimes You Need CHARACTER, Not Prayer

No matter how we pray, attitude has its place. This the strong truth a lot of Christians fail to understand. Prayer is good, but prayer isn't the answer to everything. Somewhere in the scriptures, the Bible says that before we pray, he will answer.. You know why? Because we've exhibited attitudes that will attract miracles.. People, sometimes pray for miracles to happen, what you need is character, not prayer, not speaking in tongues. God is a spirit, and for him to bless you, he needs to pass through a man. If you lack good relationships with men, you'll hardly be blessed. God works with relationship. You must learn to treat people with courtesy.. The Shunammite woman must have been praying for a child all through her life. I'm sure. She was a prominent woman and surely she had money but couldn't buy a child. You know what made her have a child? She took care of Elisha, a man of God. She respected him, she was hospitable, she was...

THE LAWYERS COFFEE

This episode will venture into a sphere of documentation that most people take for granted that is *Tidiness*  According to Oxford Dictionary , tidiness is the act, ways of  being smart, neat, well arranged in good time, right time, and so on. We say thus be putting the concept of tidiness under advisement in two different forms, viz- first as it relates to papers and second as it related to digital documentations.    The episode therefore puts into sharp focus and into the light of verity, the exigencies of having documents tidied up in such a way as to ease finding them and also for reference purposes. It is trite that *documents create a paper reality we call proof*  In the first instance, the document as a paper would be examined. As an advocate, when we start out, our paper work is always little but this will change in little time as we become more sophisticated, the number of pages will grow to 50 to 100 to 500 and even more. As a matter of...

Dreams! By: Andrew Chigbu

Run? yes we can! Hide? No we can’t! Like shadows, our dreams are meshed with our souls, becoming only visible when we walk in the light! Like fire, they burn on the inside, quench able only by the taste of fulfillment! Many-a- bird swoon over the sight of worms but the presence of the vulture means the presence of death!  So we must fight with every fiber of our being, Fight for our dreams so that we leave no spoil to these messengers of Hades! No matter the miles we do, we should only run towards our dreams not from them!  we can run! but we can’t hide! An unfulfilled dream leaves an emptiness in the soul!                   ~ Andrew Chigbu

Tell Osun State University to Brace Up!!! [Part 4] By: Bode Ojoniyi

#NotoCriminalsinUniosun  #3080  Isa 59:14 Injustice is everywhere; justice seems far away. Truth is chased out of court; honesty is shoved aside. Isa 59:15 Everyone tells lies; those who turn from crime end up ruined. When the LORD noticed that justice had disappeared, he became very displeased [CEV]. Part of the nauseating things since I started the “No To Criminals in Uniosun” campaign [#NotoCriminalsinUniosun, #3080] with the series title, “Tell Osun State University to Brace Up!!!” is that everybody agrees that indeed Osun State University Management, Council, Prof Christopher Alebiosu, Prof Akintayo, Prof Olukoya Ogen, Dr. Amao Temitayo Ayanbisi, Dr. Adeleke, Dr. Omitola and the Nigeria Media, particularly, The Punch, with such worthless journalism of crime and criminals preservation as carried out by Femi Makinde, are indeed culpable of criminality in the glaring defamation of my character through blackmail to cover the crime of gross manipulations of r...
