DISCOVERING THE REAL YOU TO MAKE A DIFFFRENCE IN YOUR SOCIETY BY: OLUWAJIMI THORPE

How many of us today can say we know our real selves, passion & purpose in life, The creator has given each & every one of us one talent or the other but we haven’t been patient to look deep into our heart.

All my life until now I have done things because of the interest of monetary reward, I failed to identify my passion which will make me more fulfilled and happier  in life ‘’ I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE RICHES OF THIS WORLD, WHAT I REALLY CARE ABOUT IS ME BEING ABLE TO WRITE AND IMPACT  IN SOMEONES LIFE’’.

We have different talent within us but most of us tend to neglect it & tend to do things for the monetary reward, we the youth of today must understand that ‘’HAVING ALL THE MONEY IN LIFE DOES NOT ASSURE YOU A FULFILLED LIFE’’ the only thing that I can assure you is this :when you ‘’IDENTIFY YOUR PASSION AND YOU IMPACT IT INTO YOUR VISION AND MISSION THAT WHAT WILL BRING THE RICHEST AND THE FULFILLED LIFE YOU DESIRE’’.

I know you are think if this is possible, firstly you need to ask yourself these questions.

WHAT IS MY PASSION?
You need to identify that thing you do best, that makes you happy, that no matter how you try to avoid it but it keeps on coming.

The problem we have today in Nigeria is that we the leaders of tomorrow has failed to identify our passion we just want to make big funds, we just want to get rich without hard work and tend to forget that when you make MONEY IN THE RIGHT WAY IT GIVES YOU INNER PEACE FOR LIFE but WHEN YOU MAKE IT THE OTHER WAY YOU CANT BE HAPPY FOREVER.

We the youth of today tend to go into internet scamming and when we are questioned why we tend to venture into this, we say "IT'S BECAUSE OF THE SOCIETY I FIND MY SELF".

 Yes you are right,
Our society is very corrupt but someone must make a difference, someone must stand up and say to him/her self that I CAN MAKE IT, I WILL FOLLOW MY PASSION , I CAN ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS.

The zeal to make quick & large fund early in life has lead many awesome talent that we will never know to early graves, we must start rethinking about steps we take, we must start standing for truth, we must start following our passion.

The root to this problem in our great Nation is our SYSTEM, our SYSTEM has failed to think about the future of this country, they just want to get everything without considering the rate in which the mind-set of the present generation is getting decayed , if my mind set about life is full of corruption what will I teach my children?, what will my children pass to their own children?

This has been a disease that has been passed from generation to generation, we need to cure this disease in our society and it starts with me and you, we can make that difference,  we can make large funds doing what is right ‘’ YOU CAN BE RICH WITHOUT DOING DIRTY THINGS’’

                       IS IT POSSIBLE?

Yes, the development of our mind-set start developing from that tender age as a kid, to achieve this, we must change the way we see the society, we should see the problem around us as opportunities. ‘’WE NEED YOUTH THAT SEES IMPOSSIBLE AS POSSIBLE’’ everything is possible,
it’s just your thought towards what you want to achieve.

In Nigeria we should create a course in our educational curriculum that will tend to teach a child about the norms in his/her society that will help to direct the corrupt system and telling that child that the hope of this country is in their hands that he/she can make a difference.

If I was told about  the corrupt system, I will have not made some mistake, I will have solved more problems from a tender age, I will have reduced corruption in my own level, I will not have justified some of my action with my leaders actions.

My fellow youth, stop doing things because of the society might have kept it in a way that the only way you can make it is to follow the bad journey people are embarking on, don’t justify your action with  our leaders action ‘’ THEY BEHAVE LIKE THAT BECAUSE THAT WAS THE SOCIETY THEY FOUND THEMSELVES BUT FAIL TO CHANGE IT, AND THIS HAS CAUSED  UNDERDEVELOPMENT’’.

I don’t know how many people will read this, I don’t know who will try and find and then make use of their passion, but the only thing I can assure you is that WHEN YOU FOLLOW YOUR PASSION AND YOU DO IT WITH A CLEAN MIND, THE CREATOR WILL SURELY BLESS THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS.

I remain my humble self.

Painful letters By: Marvee

Every time I feel this way This terrifying kind of pain These twitchy palms and muffled sobs These weakened sights and mindless slob I would think of something To put me at ease, anything At times, to leave my world And be someone else, not a dud Often times I would write on plain sheet Write till my limbs felt weak Write till the page is covered in ink Write till the painful times shift.                                              ©-Marvee

_The so called queen of the zanger A woman of misery and deceptive appearance Wags tongue in a swordlike How angelic she be when seeking the honey frm it's comb With her romantic but deceitful display The first sight of her left me in dismay First encounter with her was heartrending Such a sweet poison A devil in disguise wit an angelic face The so called queen can neither be embraced nor avoided.

THE GCE GIRL By: OLUSEGUN AKINSANYA

Every year we welcome into our community several teenagers between 13 and 17 from far and near. They are both male and female. They have the same mission. They have come to write General Certificate Examination (G.C.E). Most of them are penultimate students in secondary schools. These little fellows have been fixed at centres nearby to write their exams and the people that brought them have accommodation as part of the payment agreement. Some of these children are leaving home for the first time. Some of them look like mom's pets. Immediately they hit the town, you see a lot of ambiance and noise, something like a carnival. They make noise in the morning while looking for water for domestic use and in the evening when they are back from their different centres. It's always a new experience for most of them, and they seem to enjoy it: yea, they seem to enjoy being away from home for a whole month, a kind of escape from the eagle eyes of their parents; they seem to enjoy a t...
