AFRICA WAKE UP By: Oluwajimi Thorpe

The issue of desertification has started yielding it's effect on Africa, in which over time the rate of desert encroachment has increased in an alarming rate which has affected the people, wildlife and plant in that geographical location.

Climate change is one major factor that has increased climate disorder in Africa, the increase in temperature has lead to the increase in land-surface albedo which tend to make the land to be dry which will lead to drought and desertification.

I will tag the issue of desertification as a global issue for our leaders to manage, we can see the rate in which desertification has caused inter-tribal conflict among herdsmen & tribes in Africa, we must understand that this herdsmen survive basically on their herds, some of this herdsmen tribes even regards their herds more important than themselves because it’s a tradition passed from one generation to the other.

Why then should we tend to criticize this herdsmen, when we have all contributed to the environmental degradation occurring in their region which as lead to the loss of vegetation and water that their herds need to survive, this is their basic of survival and it is also their reason of existing, we must respect that. IT IS WORTHY TO NOTE THAT ‘’THE WORLD IS A SYSTEM IN ANOTHER SYSTEM WHICH ARE INTERCONNECTED’’ in which one activity within a geographical location can tend to alter another environment within that region, is it their fault that desertification is taken over their grassland?  NO it is my fault, your fault, our fault we are all guilty.

It is time for Africa to wake up, we all know the trending issue in the world ‘’ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION’’ but we tend not to understand that there is a need for us to change our ways, we must understand one thing that THE HE has come in different ways THE HE came as a missionary, merchant, colonial master and we should know he brought and invented a word called INTERNATIONAL TRADE.

Yes THE HE as helped Africa to develop in one aspect, but the main fact about everything is that THE HE is also the root to all our problems, THE HE never sees us as equals, they tend to manipulate our  leaders, brainwash them, stash them, then iron them after which THE HE still controls the system ‘’THE CORRUPT JUDGES THE CORRUPT’’.

In Africa today the increase in ultraviolent rays has caused extreme heat which is the implications of global warming that has resulted from decades of the emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-tapping greenhouse gases, research has shown that if this activities continue it will lead to increase in temperature in Africa which will lead to more desertification in the region.

The must funniest thing is that THE HE is also experiencing the effect of global warming in his environment, but has failed to divert, find alternative but what THE HE did was to manage the situation in a way that future generations will be left with no conducive environment.

There is alot of conspiracy you can not see or understand
WHY DO YOU THINK THEY WANT TO INHABIT MARS?

WHO IS RUNNING THE PROGRAMME?

WHO IS FUNDING THE PROGRAMME?

WHO WILL HAVE POWER AND JURISDICTION WITHIN MARS?

It is time for my people to wake up, we don’t have any other place to call home, they know that if we continue with the harmful activity on earth, earth will not survive.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS ON EARTH IF WE CONTINUE WITH THIS ACTIVITIES?

HOW MANY OF US WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT?

WHAT IS THE EXCHANGE RATE IN YOUR COUNTRY TO THE HE CURRENCY?

CAN YOU AFFORD IT?

It is time for we Africans to go back to agriculture, because it is the key to a sustainable future, we have been brainwashed to believe that without non-renewable natural resources we can’t develop, e.g. compare Nigeria economy of 2016 and 1940s in relation to the THE HE currency.

What we have failed to understand that THE HE will always create policies to favour him,  it’s time we start creating policies  that will yield sustainable development in Africa and that is AGRICULTURE.

CAN ANYONE SURVIVE WITHOUT FOOD?

THE HE introduced world international trade and this has alternated Africa's vision and mission in which most of our economy depend on non-renewable resources ‘’AFRICA YOU BETTER STOP DANCING TO THAT BEAT BECAUSE YOU ARE MEANT TO BE THE ONE PLAYING THE MUSIC FOR THEM TO DANCE TO’’.

Come to think about it the root of our problems and wars has it root from where?  IT'S FROM THEM
For me, I cant take side when it comes to global issues because there is a lot of conspiracy people cant understand, it will only take deep thinkers to unfold the truth in all this issues.

Painful letters By: Marvee

Every time I feel this way This terrifying kind of pain These twitchy palms and muffled sobs These weakened sights and mindless slob I would think of something To put me at ease, anything At times, to leave my world And be someone else, not a dud Often times I would write on plain sheet Write till my limbs felt weak Write till the page is covered in ink Write till the painful times shift.                                              ©-Marvee

_The so called queen of the zanger A woman of misery and deceptive appearance Wags tongue in a swordlike How angelic she be when seeking the honey frm it's comb With her romantic but deceitful display The first sight of her left me in dismay First encounter with her was heartrending Such a sweet poison A devil in disguise wit an angelic face The so called queen can neither be embraced nor avoided.

THE GCE GIRL By: OLUSEGUN AKINSANYA

Every year we welcome into our community several teenagers between 13 and 17 from far and near. They are both male and female. They have the same mission. They have come to write General Certificate Examination (G.C.E). Most of them are penultimate students in secondary schools. These little fellows have been fixed at centres nearby to write their exams and the people that brought them have accommodation as part of the payment agreement. Some of these children are leaving home for the first time. Some of them look like mom's pets. Immediately they hit the town, you see a lot of ambiance and noise, something like a carnival. They make noise in the morning while looking for water for domestic use and in the evening when they are back from their different centres. It's always a new experience for most of them, and they seem to enjoy it: yea, they seem to enjoy being away from home for a whole month, a kind of escape from the eagle eyes of their parents; they seem to enjoy a t...
