The Hult Prize Foundation (Bayero University)

  The Hult Prize Foundation is a start-up accelerator for budding young social entrepreneurs emerging from universities around the world.

  The annual competition aims to build and launch the most compelling social business idea - start-up enterprises that tackle grieve issues faced by billions of people every day. The winning team will receive USD1 million in seed capital as well as mentorship. It is open to students on every continent, thus now in Bayero University kano.

  The International program allows student leaders on campus to organize their own localized version of the Hult Prize, run entirely by volunteer student campus directors. We met Olumide Areo campus Director for BUK who feed a few wonderful words "We have a lot of amazing projects here on our campus, projects innovative enough to liberate millions of people and make their life better, let's be the change we want to see in the world and that change can begin with you.

  Hult prize on campus program gives students a vital role to play in changing the trajectory of some of the world's toughest challenges, starting in their own communities and countries. Called the NOBLE PRIZE FOR STUDENTS in partnership with the United Nations, the local competition gives the university winning team the chance to bypass the general application round and fast track into one of the regional Finals Where they get to compete for USD1 million.

Every year we welcome into our community several teenagers between 13 and 17 from far and near. They are both male and female. They have the same mission. They have come to write General Certificate Examination (G.C.E). Most of them are penultimate students in secondary schools. These little fellows have been fixed at centres nearby to write their exams and the people that brought them have accommodation as part of the payment agreement. Some of these children are leaving home for the first time. Some of them look like mom's pets. Immediately they hit the town, you see a lot of ambiance and noise, something like a carnival. They make noise in the morning while looking for water for domestic use and in the evening when they are back from their different centres.
